Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls or slider buns
  • 12 crispy breaded chicken nuggets or 1 lb breaded chicken tenders (cooked)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or Sriracha)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 slices pepper jack or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Slice the entire block of slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the individual rolls connected if possible.
  2. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the melted butter, honey, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. Set aside a small amount of the glaze for brushing the tops of the buns later.
  3. Place the bottom half of the slider buns into your prepared baking dish. Place one cooked crispy chicken nugget or a portion of chicken tender on each bun. If your chicken pieces are large, you may need to cut them to fit the size of the rolls.
  4. Drizzle most of the spicy honey glaze over the chicken pieces, ensuring each one is well-coated. Place a pickle slice on each piece of chicken, then layer the cheese slices evenly across the top of all the chicken pieces.
  5. Place the top half of the buns over the cheese. Brush the remaining glaze over the tops of the buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
  6. Remove the sliders from the oven and let them sit for a few minutes. Use a sharp knife to cut through the buns and separate the individual sliders. Serve warm and enjoy the sticky, spicy goodness!
